Ariana Henriques

She is a determined woman. She chose History as her first and only option and that’s how she built the Empire that is her curriculum vitae. Graduated in History, she has a variant in Archeology and a postgraduate degree in Conservation and Restoration of Graphic Documents. She was an intern at the Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino, and for more than a decade was part of the Conservation and Restoration team of the National Archives – Torre do Tombo, where she restored several documents on paper and parchment, including processes of the Inquisition of Évora, Lisbon and Coimbra. She also took the Heraldry Course from Fundação das Casas de Fronteira e Alorna. Being a born historian, it is Ariana who fights in meetings and partnerships to make clients 100% enlightened, contributing daily to the company’s history.

Inês Narciso

She is the woman of all trades, she doesn’t get rid of any proposal, instead she piles them on. She has a degree in History, and a Masters in Criminology from the UK. She is currently a PhD student in Sociology and teaches in the area of Digital Investigation Methodologies at ISCTE-IUL. If there is investigation involved, Inês has already done, or will do it, and, at some point in the past, she was a Senior Technician of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, with a focus on Digital and Analytical Investigations. She turns the world upside down, but finds what she’s looking for, and that’s how she formed the Jewish Genealogy Group, and later Espelho do Passado. Despite having left the project, she leaves an important milestone as a founding partner, who transmitted all the knowledge and tips on genealogical research, as well as trained the team of researchers. When her descendants open her family’s book in the future, there will certainly be a chapter just for Inês, and her company’s book will serve as an example.

Milene Lourenço

She came to the continent to study tourism, along with her Azorean accent and does not give it up. But that’s not the only reason Milene stands out in a crowded room. She emanates good energy and that’s why there is no one who doesn’t want to have a partner like her. When genealogy beckoned to her, Milene let go of her cabin crew and tourism association jobs and waved back. Today, she is mostly in charge of contacting the customer, acting as a bridge between them and the researchers, who are grateful, because no one can stand up to Milene’s level of organization.

Catarina Brazão

It’s easy to make her smile and if no one puts the brakes on her, she talks and laughs without fears or taboos. That’s why she chose journalism, in order to be heard and read, but also because she is curious, hence how genealogy emerged in her life. Through an invitation, her curiosity and interest spoke louder. Graduated in Journalism, Communication and Digital Media, she loves to write, and writing seems to like her back, having worked in an online newsroom. Her easy way to communicate and her extroverted way of doing it, brought her to join the communication team of Espelho do Passado.

David Peixoto Santos

A person who does not sympathize with David is yet to be born. He exudes calm and is always ready to help others. He was handpicked to find the lost ties in Espelho do Passado and he was grateful because he believes it is a more human aspect of the investigation. “It’s being able to use genealogical research to help in the present to bring together ties that by the circumstances of life have been separated,” he said. Graduated in Economics, he later specialized in the consequences of tourism for the Portuguese and North American economy, having completed a Master’s degree in Tourism Management in Florida. As a child he wanted to be a paleontologist, and despite having changed his mind, it is certain that he leaves a big footprint on our company.

Gulmira Ahrorova

She feeds the social networks with her creativity and feeds the state of mind of those around her with all her contagious joy. Entrepreneurship and spontaneity compete with each other for a place of preference in her main characteristics. Portugal won when Mira got on a flight from Uzbekistan and came to train in Digital Marketing at the World Academy. She had already taken a professional course in Marketing, Communication and Image, and is finishing a Graphic Design course. Even though she has to manage the content of several pages, Espelho do Passado grabbed her right away.

Inês Geraldes

She is a master of translation, organization and of putting on a sweet smile. She speaks some languages that, despite being different, always see her accent come out with the same purity and simplicity that are characteristic of her. With a degree in Modern Languages, in English and German, in 2015 she had the opportunity to study in Berlin at Freie Universität Berlin, through the Erasmus program. She also worked as an interpreter and translator. She offers us, daily, part of her methodical and focused side to keep our database, a fundamental element in the research work, organized. In a constant personal quest to explore more about the world and our global history, her path brought her to genealogy.

Joana Marques

She has an overwhelming desire to learn and dedicated could be her nickname. Joana discovers passions in challenges and that’s how genealogy won her over. She started with a degree in Journalism, then in History and even graduated as a Yoga teacher. She was once a digital content producer, but it was time to start another chapter in the book of her life. She says that she was chosen by the Business Archeology and Family Books section in Espelho do Passado because she considers it to be the perfect match between her tastes. “It has all to do with the fact that I love economic history and am completely in love with genealogy.” Joana dives headfirst and gets involved without brakes, and from here you only reap fruits sown with commitment.

Luísa Veiga

Since the age of 6, Luísa has traveled a lot with the scouts. She knows Portugal from North to South, and has already made use of several pins to point out so many other places on the globe, through which she has had the pleasure of wandering her eyes. Along the way, she graduated in History, did a postgraduate degree in Heritage, and is finishing her Masters in Museology. She has already worked on a cataloging and inventory project at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, was a production and inventory assistant on a project at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and also did an internship as a cultural mediator at the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. She is an observer who appears to be quiet, but if you give her two fingers of conversation, she gives you her whole hand. The sum of so many years of backpacking and a taste for history and genealogy resulted in the production of historical itineraries.

Raúl Figueiredo

He is the master of genealogy, and what is not known, Raúl discovers. What is not found, Raúl builds a compass and makes a map. He was born in Portugal, lived in Brazil for 4 years and returned to his homeland with countless stories to tell. He graduated in History and Archeology, with a Research variant. He was an Archive Assistant at the Historical Archives of the University of Évora and a Research Fellow at the FCT. He was a digitizer for the General Archive of the Army and the Historical Archive of the Portuguese Air Force and also an Administrative at TAP Air Portugal. He says that genealogy was something he never imagined doing, but now he can’t imagine doing anything else.

Sofia Negrão

We all have a side of curiosity with a hint of gossip in us and Sofia is the first to admit it with a laugh. Genealogy came into her life through an invitation from a professor who felt that her intelligence and insight should be shared and be at the service of a demanding public. She graduated in Contemporary History and at the same time took a course in creative writing. She did an internship at the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, in the project “The Non-Commercial Exhibition of Cinema”. Sofia is as much a perfectionist as she is charismatic, and although we don’t believe in fate, and think that we’re all here improvising without a script, Espelho do Passado has no doubt that Sofia was destined to work on the Family Books for them to run smoothly. These come to quench her thirst for discovery, while she simultaneously injects her personal stamp.
